RTI Committee

About

An RTI (Right to Information) Committee is established within an organization, particularly public institutions or organizations that are subject to RTI laws, to ensure compliance with transparency and information disclosure requirements. The RTI Act, which was enacted in various countries (e.g., the RTI Act of India, 2005), provides the public with the right to access information held by public authorities.

 

Activities

  1. Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with RTI laws and regulations.
  2. Focus Groups: Organizing focus group discussions to collect detailed qualitatiInformation Disclosure: Ensure that information is available to the public as required by the RTI Act.
  3. Request Processing: Receive, process, and respond to RTI requests in a timely manner.
  4. Information Provision: Provide accurate and relevant information as requested by the public, while protecting sensitive or confidential information.
  5. Public Awareness: Promote awareness about the RTI Act and how individuals can submit RTI requests.
